France
The Dordogne has always been a popular holiday
destination. Known as the Perigord, it is split into four areas. The white
(blanc) named after the white chalky soil, Black (Noir) named after the
black oaks that dominate the landscape, Green (vert) after the pine forest
hill and purple (pourpre) after the wine grapes grown around the Bergerac
area. Holidays in the Dordogne are spent in what is considered by most to
be the most beautiful department in France. Towns worth visiting are

France
The Vendee is wonderful for holidays that involve

labyrinth of canals waterways creating a natural reserve for all forms of

West France
The Charente is one of four départements making up the
region of Poitou-Charentes in West France, the other most popular holiday
destination being the Charente- Maritime. The Charente is divided into five
areas, South Charente, bordering the Dordogne, the gentle sloping vineyards
and of the wealthy cognac producing West Charente, the pretty riverside
villages of the Ruffecois, the hillside pine forests of the Haute-Charente
bordering the Limousin and the rock formations and caves in the Horte-et-
Tardoire. Angouleme, the department capital is a superb destination for
shoppers. The Charente-Maritime borders the Atlantic and has some of the
finest sandy beaches in France. La Rochelle, Cognac, Saintes and Rochefort
are all worth a visit. This area boasts the second highest level of sunshine
in France.
Holidays in Morbihan in Brittany North West France
Morbihan lies at the south of the four départements that
make up the region of Brittany. Bordered by Finistère to the west,
Côtes-d’Armor to the north and the Ille-et-Vilaine to the east. History is
everywhere in Brittany and never far away, from the Atlantic Wall
fortifications and the submarine pens at Lorient of the Second World War,
the Hundred Years’ War fortresses at Josselin and Pontivy to the prehistoric
standing stones at Carnac. Holidays in the Morbihan can be spent on the long
sandy beaches or exploring the darker more mysterious interior. Seafood
abounds and Brittany is renowned for its seafood cuisine.
Holidays in Calvados Normandy North France
Calvados is a department on the English channel in lower

holidayakers. The region has been a French province since the 13th century.
The Mediterranean coast from Perpignan in the west and Montpellier in the
