Following is the French for various numbers, with approximate pronunciation. If you don't know French, you may want to print out a copy and put it in your cheque book. If it looks complex at first, don't worry; you will soon see the pattern and get used to it.
Note that for numbers the meaning of "," and "." is the opposite from the UK. For example, in the UK one would write "10,000.45" for ten thousand euros and forty-five cents whereas in France one would write "10.000,45".
